Over the weekend Scott loaded up the car in Adelaide, Melbourne bound.. with his mountain of triathlon gear, his ‘handler’ (hehe, thanks Marcus!) and a determination to race his heart out. With his eye on potential selection for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, he really gave this race his all.
The Oceania Championships in St Kilda kicked off bright and early Sunday morning, and with Melbourne putting on some hairy conditions the swim leg of the race was cancelled. Instead what lay ahead was a 2k run, 20k bike and a 5k run to bring it home! With some serious headwind, Scott raced hard, coming in second place.
The Commonwealth Games teams are being finalised early February with two male spots still to be filled… now we wait and see if all his hard work over the last 12 months has paid off. Regardless, it has been an epic year and there is still plenty of racing ahead.
